View Full Version : Paperwork Changing name on Certificado de Registro Residente?
Hiya, Has anyone been through or explain the process of changing a name on a Certificado de Registro Residente. Have already got new passport with amended name but wondered what documents and copies were needed.
Many Thanks

Your old Certificado , new passport and copy , passport size photo, certificate of empadronamiento less than 6 months old,ex18 form and models 790 from police station filled in and paid and possibly a photocopy of your old passport to be safe . Your NIE number will be same .
Don't know if you got married or why name change but Goldenmaniac may explain any other requirements !
Don't foget a copy of certificate of empadronamiento less than 6 months old as well. It was the first thing we were asked before we got a number to queue!
As passport in new name and Certificado de Registro Residente in old name(obviously)how do I apply for certificate of empadronamiento if the names are different. I thought the passport and Certificado de Registro Residente had to match How confusing!!!!!

You may have to go to Ayuntamiento for that change too - more photocopies !
what Ayuntamiento?

You still haven't said why the name change? - If it's marriage then you will have to have your marriage certificate apostilled by the UK foreign office and translated into Spanish.
If you have the marriage cert then the empadronamiento can be changed as well - don't forget to change your NH docs info and a modelo 30 for the tax office once you have done the cert. of residence
If it's deed poll - then it's more complicated.
Its deed poll. Why is this more complicated?
